Bachelor's Programs

Mechanical Engineering Curriculum Mechanical Engineering shapes the technologies that drive modern society, from energy systems and advanced manufacturing to robotics, transportation, aerospace, and biomedical technologies. The undergraduate program at METU Mechanical Engineering provides students with a strong engineering foundation built upon analytical thinking, physical modeling, experimentation, and system-level design. Spanning eight semesters over four years, the curriculum combines rigorous theoretical education with hands-on engineering experience through laboratories, technical electives, and industrial internships.

The program encourages students to explore diverse areas of mechanical engineering while developing the creativity and practical skills required to solve complex real-world problems. Senior-year design experiences and laboratory studies expose students to open-ended engineering challenges that require innovation, teamwork, technical judgment, and prototype development. Through flexible elective opportunities, summer school offerings, and interdisciplinary studies, students can shape their academic path according to their individual interests and career goals while preparing for leadership roles in industry, research, entrepreneurship, and academia.
